Shuffled speed reading

There was a thing going around a while ago that, supposedly according to Cambridge researchers (not really), if you scramble the innards of a word and keep the first and last letter in the same spot, you can still understand what's going on.

So since I made a speed reading program, I figured it was easy enough to test this. Here is the result, so you can try for yourself with any reading material and see if it's true:
